Test per rilevazione di sangue occulto nelle feci

Il test (Fecal Occult Blood Test – FOBT) fornisce indicazioni sulla presenza di sangue nel campione fecale analizzato. ll risultato positivo indica semplicemente che c’è un sanguinamento, di solito lento ed intermittente, nel tratto gastrointestinale. Non permette di determinare quale parte del tratto sia interessata ne fornisce informazionI sulla natura del sanguinamento stesso che può essere determinato da cause benigne (come le emorroidi) o da cause di varia natura e severità. Per questa ragione si consiglia di associare il test ad altri esami come la rilevazione dell’enzima M2PK o il Gut Screening.
